Playful and Purposeful - 3d Printing

As I reflect on 3d printing I would use this tool for playful and purposeful reasons. My talented and gifted students are creative and critical thinkers. We could use a 3d printer to create game pieces for chess boards that varied amongst themes students liked such as Among Us or Minecraft. We could also utilize 3d printers to create small Lego-like structures as we delve into an Architecture unit. Students could also use a 3d printer to create a model of our Solar system as well. I wonder in what other ways a 3d printer could serve the educational and curious ponderings of students?
